The World Swings back to Balance:
The Grey Tower had fallen. Those Renegades who had stood in opposition to the Magi for so long were scattered to the winds as the full might of Waywreth was brought to bear against them. Too long had the Magi tolerated the threat of the Renegades. Too long had the Magi tolerated the threat to Magic itself.
Magi and Arch Magi, those of the Red and White and Black. Each came together for common cause and purpose, and for one singular moment in the span of time's passing, the Tower of Waywreth was united.
Many a Magi had struck the Renegade stronghold before, but this was something greater, something more. And all the world shook to see the full fury of the Magi brought to bear upon those who would be their enemy, upon those would dare threaten the Magic that was their lives.
And so too did the world learn the full strength of the Tower, and Magi once more regained the air of suspense and mystery.
Yet as the Grey Tower fell and the Renegade forces crushed, scattered.. the Tower of Waywreth did not stay unified for long. With the threat to Magic having been negated, they once more retreated to their studies.. and each mage would decide for their own self, their place in the War.
The Council of Whitestone had stirred the hearts and minds of many. They rallied to one, yet past feelings and hatreds were not so easily put aside. Some differences had not yet been settled, and while some unification had come from the meeting.. the great shining Army of Light had not been fully formed.
The Council, however, was not wholly without purpose. Rough alliances were forged, and in this a few battles against the Dark Queen's armies had been won. Some lands and people were freed from beneath the hold that had gripped Krynn for so long a time. Yet each battle was telling, and many lives were lost in the struggles.
The War waged on, each side gaining ground and then losing it, each side losing heroes and champions, only to have new ones rise to take their place. The struggle was a stalemate, brutal, violent and bloody, embroiled in heated conflict and seeing no end in sight Soon.
Yet the conflict served to give Takhisis pause, and make her question if she truly wished to manifest her full might upon the mortal plane. For in this she risked facing the wrath of the restored Gods of Light.
In her rage and Fury the Dark Queen hurled down her leaders and captains, demanding to know how this had happened when She had been so close to victory. They would have to regain her favor once more, and Takhisis watched them claw and struggle to see which of her servants would come out on top and lead her armies to new victory.
But the people had rallied to the servants of light who struggled, and the number of would be heroes swelled in rank. Who would rise among them.. and who still remained, this was yet to be seen.
